Robert Taylor Air Combat Paintings Volume VI with foreword by Sir Peter Jackson
ROBERT TAYLOR AIR COMBAT PAINTINGS VOLUME VI With Foreword by Sir Peter Jackson The name Robert Taylor has been synonymous with aviation art for over forty years and he is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most widely collected artists in the history of the genre.Robert’s aviation paintings are instantly recognizable. He somehow managed to convey all the technical detail of aviation in a traditional and painterly style, reminiscent of the Old Masters. Due to prodigious research and attention to detail, he was able to recreate scenes from the past with a carefully rehearsed realism that few other artists manage to achieve. This outstanding first edition copy of Robert Taylor’s Volume VI book of aviation paintings contains 128 pages, combining over 70 images reproduced in full color, supported by a host of beautiful drawings and informative photographs, including many images never previously seen, and gold-blocked titles emblazon the spine.Readers will experience some of the world’s greatest air battles as visualized by the world’s master of aviation art, and the story of how these masterworks came into existence. Each painting is given its own chapter in which Robert discusses how he brings the canvas to life, providing an intriguing insight into the stories behind each work of art, his preparation and how he tackles research. Fascinatingly, he explains the intricacies of composition, disclosing many of his techniques as he takes you page by page on a virtual tour of his studio. This outstanding book is available with a choice of two different specially produced jackets – one to represent the USAAF and the other the RAF and Commonwealth PLEASE NOTE: This listing includes the book with the USAAF dust jacket cover – please let us know when ordering if you would prefer the RAF dust jacket.BUY WITH CONFIDENCE: We have been in business for over 25 years and our items are guaranteed to be in perfect condition, unless specified otherwise.
